Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former minister for human rights Shireen Mazari has claimed that two men from the Special Branch showed up at her house and questioned her security guard. Mazari accused Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah of being involved in sending the men to her door as a 'form of intimidation'.
According to Mazari, two men showed up at her house and questioned her private security guard about the security details of her house and whether any police have been stationed there.
She said upon inquiry, the men claimed to have been sent by the 'Special Branch HQ', due to the letters she had written to the United Nations asking them to intervene on the matter of blasphemy cases against political opponents. She said one of the men identified himself as Mohammad Abbas.

Mazari did not seem to buy this reason, as she said it was a "ridiculous explanation", and then tagging the Chief of UN Human Rights Commission Michelle Bachelet, she claimed that the letters have disturbed some people.
She then questioned if this was Rana Sanaullah's way of intimidation, and tagged the Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
The letters Mazari referred to were written to request UN intervention regarding the blasphemy cases lodged by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government against PTI leaders for the Madina incident where a few weeks ago, Pakistani pilgrims had heckled and raised slogans against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's delegation in Madina.
Just last week, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah had said in a press conference that PTI should at least apologize for and condemn the Madina incident, as the men involved in the incident had been identified as PTI supporters. He claimed there was a lot of pressure from religious groups to take action over the incident, and mentioned Ahsan Iqbal as a warning example.
