Security Forces Confirmed Plot To Assassinate PM Imran, Claims Minister
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has claimed that security agencies have reported a plot to assassinate Prime Minister Imran Khan, endorsing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader's Faisal Vawda's earlier allegations of the same.

The information minister relayed the report on Twitter, adding that the prime minister's security has been 'beefed up' as per the government's decision.

On Wednesday night, Faisal Vawda claimed that there is a conspiracy to assassinate the prime minister over his refusal to ‘sell the country’, in addition to the ‘foreign conspiracy’ of which Imran Khan claimed he had proof.

“There is a serious threat to Imran Khan sahab’s life. I don’t know whether you were read that part [in the letter] about the consequences. That is life-threatening,” Vawda told ARY News anchor Kashif Abbasi on his show, ‘Off The Record’ on Wednesday night.

“There has been a mention of assassinating Imran Khan sahab,” Vawda repeated.

Fawad told the news anchor, “We are concerned and worried about our leader. A conspiracy is being hatched to assassinate Imran Khan.” The PTI leader concluded, adding that despite the threats to his life, the prime minister was a ‘brave man’ who will neither accept dollars or allow bases to be built in the country, alluding to the United State’s request to set up military bases in Pakistan.

During his address to the nation Thursday night, the prime minister seemingly confirmed that the 'threatening letter' he had in his possession concerned diplomatic communication between Pakistan and the United States.
