KP CM Downplays Rumours Of No-Confidence Motion Against Him
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has rebuked claims that the opposition plans to table a no-confidence motion against him, terming the rumours a ‘joke’.

Although the opposition holds a two-thirds majority in the KP provincial assembly, the chief minister assured that the members of the provincial assembly were loyal to Imran Khan.  The chief minister lauded the prime minister, who he said always spoke of national dignity and was the only prime minister to establish an independent foreign policy based on equality with foreign allies.

“Imran Khan has become an effective voice of Islam and Muslims at all international forums,” CM Mahmood Khan said.

The chief minister highlighted the many positive initiatives he said the prime minister had implemented in KP, from stipends to prayer leaders, scholarships for seminary students, solarisation of mosques, and the Sehat card which was extended to provide healthcare across the province.

The chief minister noted that many people from his province had travelled to Islamabad in a show of support for the prime minister. Defence Minister Pervez Khattak led a procession of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers and supporters from his hometown Nowshera. From Peshawar Provincial Health Minister Taimur Saleem Jharga led the rally, while Information Technology Atif Khan gathered his base in Mardan and Education Minister Shahram Khan Taraki.
