Four Soldiers Martyred In North Waziristan While Confronting Terrorists From Afghanistan: ISPR
Four soldiers were martyred in North Waziristan during an altercation with a group of terrorists attempting to cross the Afghanistan border into Pakistan, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

On the night of March 23rd into early morning, four soldiers were killed in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The martyred soldiers were identified as 34-year-old Lance Havaldar Wajahat Alam of Ghizer in Gilgit Baltistan, 25-year-old Sepoy Sajjid Inayat resident of Sheikhupura, 32-year-old Sepoy Maqbool Hayat, resident of Ghizer in Gilgit Baltistan, and 22-year-old Sepoy Sajjid Ali resident of Skardu.

“Due to alertness and timely response of the troops, the infiltration attempt was foiled. Terrorists retaliated with fire which was reciprocated in a befitting manner,” a statement from ISPR said, adding that the terrorist group suffered heavy casualties.

In recent months, various reports have indicated the remobilization of terrorist groups in KP.  The deadly terrorist attack at an Imambargah in Peshawar earlier this month was reportedly carried out by an Afghan national reportedly affiliated with ISIS-K who had crossed back and forth between the two countries.

Similarly, Journalists from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been raising funds from southern Afghanistan, after a leaflet asking people from Khost, Afghanistan for donations began circulating on social media. The TTP claimed responsibility for an attack targeting two policemen in Islamabad in January.
