Deadly Blast Hits Quetta's Jinnah Road, Taking Three Lives And Wounding More Than 20
An explosion which appears to have targeted a police vehicle on Quetta’s Jinnah Road has claimed the lives of three people and wounded at least 24. Authorities say an improvised explosive device (IED) was used. The wounded have been moved to Civil Hospital Quetta.

According to Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) of the police in Quetta Fida Hassan, some 2.5 to 3 kg of explosives were used, and among those who lost their lives is a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Reports indicate that nearby shops caught fire after the blast.

Chief Minister of Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo condemned the incident and called upon the Inspector-General (IG) of the provincial police force to submit a detailed report. CM Bizenjo expressed his view that the elements behind the attack had external support. He stated further:

"Efforts are being made to disrupt peace in Quetta and the province under a planned and well-thought-out conspiracy."
