Spoilt brat

If anyone’s wondering why Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s second son and third child, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, went so badly wrong, they have only to look at his upbringing.

Andrew was born to the Queen in 1960, nearly a decade after she ascended the British throne. She was already mother to her first son and heir, Prince Charles, and her only daughter Princess Anne. The Queen was very young when she had her first two children and having ascended the throne when they were still toddlers meant that she had no time for them. It took her years to come to grips with her new role, and it was 8 years before she felt comfortable enough to devote more time to her family. She then had her “second” family – two boys, Andrew followed by Edward.

It is said the Queen took a whole 18 months off to enjoy her third child. He was doted upon by her and soon became her favourite who could do no wrong. Andrew’s father, Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh famously referred to him as “The Boss”, because of his entitled behaviour and temper tantrums. Apparently, these character traits have continued into his 60s.

Andrew’s lax and slipshod ways began early on in adulthood, with him keeping unsavoury company, but by all accounts, the Queen looked the other way. This caused resentment with his older brother, Prince Charles, but he could not persuade his mother to impose her own strict code of conduct on Andrew. Thus, the latter’s adult life was strewn with embarrassing episodes and bad judgment calls. It was in keeping with his habits that he became close to the now disgraced American pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who once convicted as a sex offender killed himself in a Manhattan prison in August 2019. Epstein allegedly trafficked an underage victim, Virginia Roberts (now Guiffre) to Andrew and it is her case that he now has to face in New York courts. Andrew has asked for a trial by jury but his older brother Prince Charles is apparently cringing at the thought of continuous global media scrutiny and is trying to persuade his brother to settle with Ms Guiffre out of court and then disappear from public view. Prince Charles and his heir Prince William, Duke of Cambridge are anxious that this exposure will cause irreparable damage to the British Royal Family. The London grapevine is buzzing with news that they are trying to persuade the aged matriarch Queen Elizabeth to prevail upon her spoilt brat favourite to fall on his sword. Apparently, she is resisting and it may be that her indulgence of Andrew will continue to the bitter end.

What we sow, so shall we reap.

Confusion in their ranks

The usual confusion persists in the ranks of The Great Khan’s horde, we hear, with ministers and hopefuls jostling for prized positions. Our mole says Chaudhry Einstein was dead set on the Min of Int but The Great Khan poured cold water on his hopes by informing him that the fundos would be inflamed by his appointment, and that it was a provocation he could ill afford. Moreover, Sheeda Tully is sitting stubbornly on his Min of Int seat and has warned that if he is ousted, he will “take them all down” with him.

All this has not prevented Paradise Lover, Naya Pakistan’s on again-off again Information Tsar, from lobbying for her former post. They say she has been seen in Isbad, parleying with The Great Khan’s eyes and ears, his all-powerful secretary.
