British-Pakistani Man Declared Guilty Of Conspiring To Murder Exiled Blogger Goraya
A 31-year-old British-Pakistani man, Gohir Khan, has been declared guilty by a UK court of involvement in a plot to kill self-exiled blogger Ahmad Waqass Goraya in the Netherlands.

BBC reported that the jury issued its verdict on Friday, two days after the trial was concluded in London following completion of both sides' arguments.

The trial took place at the Kingston-upon-Thames Crown Court. In June last year, Khan was charged with one count of conspiracy to murder the blogger, who had left Pakistan in 2017 after he was abducted and later recovered.

It emerged during the trial that the man was recruited by people who were apparently based in Pakistan. He was tasked with killing Goraya, as per the prosecution.

After his conviction by the jury, Khan is likely to be sentenced in a criminal court in March.

During the hearings, the prosecution maintained that Gohir Khan had travelled to Rotterdam in the Netherlands with the intention to kill Goraya and that he had a tool using which he was going to commit the crime.

He was reportedly going to be rewarded heavily for his action, with a payment of £100,000. The prosecution had also stated that Gohir Khan owed a massive debt and did not have the means to pay it back, which strengthened the impression that he would agree to commit a murder for money.
