26-Year-Old Woman Sentenced To Death For Blasphemy By Rawalpindi Court
A 26-year-old woman has been sentenced to death for blasphemy by a special court of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).  The decision was announced earlier today (Wednesday).

The woman was convicted of sharing blasphemous material on social media, according to reports. The death sentence was announced under Section 295-C with FIA Special Court judge Adnan Mushtaq issuing the verdict. The court also imposed a Rs150,000 fine on the woman.

The FIR filed against the convict included provisions of the Cyber Crime Act and Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code. The case was filed in the cyber crime wing of FIA Rawalpindi on the complaint of a man named Hasnaat Farooq in 2020. The case included several provisions of blasphemy and cybercrime.
