Alleged Audio Of Maryam Nawaz, Pervaiz Rashid Discussing Media ‘Bias’ Surfaces
Yet another audiotape purportedly capturing a conversation between Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz and party leader Pervaiz Rashid discussing 'biases' in the media has surfaced online.

In the tape, the PML-N part leaders can purportedly be heard discussing the news show "Report Card" on Geo News, commenting on several well-known media personalities by name.  Rashid can allegedly be heard saying, "You know [journalist] Hasan Nisar is included in the programme who abuses us (PML-N) a lot."

Shared by ARY News and Samaa TV online, the clip has not been independently verified.

In response, Maryam can allegedly be heard commenting on fellow "Report Card" anchorperson Irshad Bhatti, who Rashid says, "talks very vulgarly."

Rashid then allegedly continues discussing journalist Mazhar Abbas, who he says reports news that is "tilted against us and spins to make fun of us".

He then comments on Hafeezullah Niazi: "Nobody there can be called our spokesperson. He did not give our point of view but the way they abuse us ... he would treat Imran Khan the same way. They have removed him and discontinued his column."

Maryam purportedly states she will ask Jang Group owner Mir Shakeelur Rehman why Niazi was removed from the panel.

"It will become an imbalanced programme. If there was a check on Imran Khan, you have ended it and [imposed] barking dogs on us," Rashid allegedly exclaims.

At the end of the tape, Maryam allegedly confirms, "Indeed, this is bias." Maryam then directs a pair of baskets brought by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif from Azerbaijan to be gifted to journalists Nusrat Javeed and Rana Jawad.

In response to the clip, journalist Mazhar Abbas quipped, "I am proud of my journalism and stand by my comments [and] critical views. One should agree to disagree but 'zaban apni apni' (to each their own)."
