Fawad Chaudhry Supports Maryam, Hamza Singing At Junaid Safdar's Wedding

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhary admired on Tuesday the hidden singing talent of Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) leaders Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz after the duo was seen singing during Junaid Safdar’s wedding event on Monday.

Junaid had tied the knot with Ayesha Saif Khan, daughter of former Ehtesab Bureau chief Saifur Rehman, in London this August. Maryam and Captain Safdar could not attend the wedding as their name remains on the Exit Control List (ECL).

Applauding the singing skills of the PML-N leaders, Chaudhary stated that singing at relatives’ weddings is a norm. However, he suggested PML-N leaders not to spend the nations’ wealth so lavishly at their weddings.

The festivities of Junaid Safdar’s wedding are burgeoning in Lahore due to which Maryam Nawaz had already suspended her political activities for two weeks. Maryam and Hamza sang jubilantly at the event a day ago and the videos went viral on the internet. Responding to the social media uproar, Maryam requested people to respect their privacy as it is their family event.

Chaudhry also condemned the lynching of a Sri Lankan national in the name of ‘blasphemy’ by a mob in Sialkot last week and appreciated the solidarity of the nation over the sad incident. He also said that the benevolence of common public differentiates Pakistan from India where such cases goes unreported, also assuring strict actions to thwart such incidents in the future.

Referring to the installation of electronic voting machines (EVMs), the minister said that the objective behind introducing EVMs was to conduct free and fair elections. He also condemned 'launching a campaign against overseas Pakistanis', instigated by PML-N and PPP, regarding the opposition parties’ move as the 'political suicide'.
