Zardari Admits Mistakes Hurt PPP In Punjab, Praises Performance In NA-133 Election
Former President and co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari has commended his party’s performance in the NA-133 by-election but admitted that some mistakes hurt the party in the province.

The former president said while speaking at a press conference at Bilawal House in Lahore, that the PPP is present in all areas of Pakistan, from the furthest part of Kashmir and to the islands beyond Karachi. He aslo confessed that the PPP had previously suffered in the electoral politics of Punjab because of self-inflicted wounds.

Zardari said that he had expected the PPP to get 50,000 votes in the NA-133 by-election, held on November 5, but the voter turnout had reminded low. He alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has over the years, since 1977, engaged in gerrymandering to manipulate elections in Punjab. He resolved that the PPP would redo delimitations in these constituencies and fight PML-N in the future.

The former president added that Pakistan was prospering under the rule of the PPP when the election was stolen from them by the PML-N, a reference to the 2013 general election.

Zardari warned that there was an international conspiracy to undo Pakistan, but, he added, we will fight and save our motherland. He revealed that he had a vision for the country that would make Pakistan a highly successful nation.
