Pakistan cricket team fans found solace in humour following last night’s thrilling semi-final between Pakistan and Australia in Dubai that Pakistan could not win. They expressed pride in the team’s performance throughout the world cup as well as sadness at the nail-biting loss to Australia on Thursday night.

A majority of the fans commended the team for its efforts and some used humour as a coping mechanism. While the crucial catch dropped by Hassan Ali in the penultimate over disappointed the fans, some extended support to him, with witty responses.

Some people used political satire to vent their frustration. One social media user took a jibe at the PM.

While another taunted an opposition party for the presence of its members at the stadium.

One fan uploaded a funny video clip to express their sentiments at the outcome of the match.

Supporters kept tweeting throughout the match as well to deal with the nerves as a result of the constantly changing match situation.

One seemingly dejected fan summed up her feeling by posting a joke that has been humorously used throughout the tournament by fans disappointed at their team’s performance.

And then there was some cross-border banter as well with Indian and Pakistani fans taunting each other about their respective team’s performance in the tournament.
