Suspects arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of a female doctor in Lahore recorded their statements with the police on Thursday.
Police said Ayaz, one of the suspects, had claimed in his statement that he was driving the motorcycle while his accomplice, Bilal, shot at Dr Khaula.
However, Bilal gave a different statement, saying “snatched Dr Khaula’s mobile phone and rode towards a library.”
The suspects will be presented before a court today.
They were arrested with the help of closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage on Wednesday, as per the directives given by Deputy Inspector General Operations Suhail Chaudhry.
Earlier on Tuesday, Dr Khaula was shot and killed while resisting a robbery in the Lahore’s Defence A area. She was gunned down outside her friend’s house in Lahore’s Defence Housing Authority.
The police arrested two suspects in connection with her murder of a female doctor. According to the police, the suspects tried to rob Dr Khaula when she was outside her friend Rija’s house.
The law enforcers said Dr Khaula was shot and killed after she put up resistance. The robbers stole her mobile phone and cash, the police was reported as saying.
Both suspects were arrested with the help of closed-circuit television camera footage.
