2 Islamic State Militants Detained By Counter-Terrorism Department In Karachi
Two suspected terrorists linked with Islamic State (IS) were detained in a joint raid carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and a federal intelligence agency on Karachi's Mauripur Road on Monday.

A CTD official claimed that the detained suspects were identified as Naseemullah alias Naseem and Mohammed Isa alias Molvi Idris.

Two pistols along with rounds were seized by the authorities from the detained accused. The CTD official further said that the suspects were trained in Afghanistan and knew how to use explosive material.

It was also revealed during the interrogation that one of the detainees, Naseemullah, was married to the daughters of two IS militants, Hafeez Pandrani and Mohammad Siddiq, who were earlier killed. Both the women had helped transport weapons to terrorists.

Last month, at least 11 suspected terrorists from Islamic State (IS) were shot dead by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Mastung, Balochistan during a search operation on Monday night, a CTD official said.

A spokesman for the department was quoted as saying that CTD personnel and other security men carried out a search operation in Mastung area, following receipt of an intelligence report hinting at the presence of the IS militants.
