The Taliban have admired Prime Minister Imran Khan’s efforts for an ‘inclusive’ government in Afghanistan as well as his work for peace and stability of the region.

The Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said that the Taliban do not consider Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘positive statements’ interference in Afghanistan’s internal matters. He expressed these while addressing a press conference in Kabul on Tuesday.

Mujahid further said that Pakistan, Qatar and China were actively working for stability in Afghanistan, adding that the Taliban would welcome the countries interested in peace and stability to play their role for the same.

He added that the Taliban were now heading towards an inclusive government. He said that the cabinet formation is not complete and more members will be made part of the setup.
In response to a question, the Taliban spokesman said that economic activities are likely to resume in the country soon.

Responding to a question, the spokesperson expressed confidence that economic activities would soon resume in the country.

Earlier today, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that Taliban want recognition as the new rulers of Afghanistan, they will have to be more sensitive to international opinions and norms.

Qureshi made these remarks in New York on Tuesday, where he is attending the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

“I don’t think anybody is in a rush to recognise at this stage and the Taliban should keep an eye on that,” he said. “If the Taliban want recognition, they have to be more sensitive and more receptive to international opinion,” he added.
