Policewoman Kidnapped And Sexually Assaulted In The Vicinity Of Two Police Stations In Muzaffargarh

Police have arrested a man suspected of kidnapping and assaulting a female sub-inspector in Muzaffargarh.

Police obtained the medical examination report of the policewoman, which confirmed that the woman had been tortured. She was allegedly kidnapped and tortured by the man who tried to rape her at gunpoint.

Police say further medical examinations are needed to confirm the allegations of rape. The suspect is now under police custody on a four-day physical remand. The car used by the suspect to kidnap the victim had also been confiscated.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the sub-inspector was on her way to work at Saddar Police Station when the suspect abducted her in a car and took her to a garden near Chaman bypass where he tortured and then raped her. The victim was then shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

The FIR says the abduction took place within the vicinity of two police stations in broad daylight. The victim told police that the suspect — identified as Kashif — had been harassing her through phone calls and messages for quite some time.

A case of abduction, torture and sexual assault has been registered at the City Police Station against the suspect. The investigation is being supervised by the deputy superintendent of police.

Inspector General (IG) Punjab Inam Ghani, taking notice of the incident, has also directed the regional police officer (RPO) Dera Ghazi Khan to submit a report on it.
