Fawad Chaudhry Announces Plans For Films On Poet Ghalib And Emperor Babur
Having been appointed once again to his former position as Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry has announced plans to be undertaken by the ministry in the coming months.

He informed the media that the state broadcaster PTV is currently in the process of producing two historical-themed TV series, one on legendary 19th-century poet Mirza Ghalib and the other on the founder of the Timurid Mughal empire, Zahiruddin Babur.

In addition to these productions, Chaudhry announced plans to upgrade PTV News to high definition (HD) format by the 1st of June next year. Thereafter, PTV Sports will also be upgraded to HD. These and many other projects had been in cold storage since Chaudhry had been removed from the Information and Broadcasting ministry in 2019.

The announcement of these new historical-themed TV series in their preliminary stages of production comes on the heels of yet another project which was revealed recently: a joint Pakistani-Turkish film on the famed Sultan Salahuddin al-Ayyubi (Saladin in the West), who is popularly celebrated for seizing the city of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) from Crusader armies in the 12th century AD.
