Fact-Check: Was A Ukraine Plane Hijacked From Kabul Airport?
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has laid to rest rumours that a Ukrainian plane was hijacked by from Kabul airport and flown to Iran. Over the past 24 hours, a number of media outlets had cited Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Yenin on the alleged hijacking of a Ukrainian plane.

Now the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko confirmed to US-government-backed media outlet Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) that "no Ukrainian plane was captured in Kabul or elsewhere."

The claim of hijacking has been similarly dismissed by Iran's Civil Aviation Authority, which confirmed that a Ukrainian aircraft refueled at Mashhad after taking off from Kabul, before continuing its journey to Ukraine.
