Rubbing shoulders
The late lamented Big Ben’s Hubby has arrived in LA, we hear, to attend fundraisers for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Sources say he’s accompanied by the nephew of his buddy who’s in the slammer these days. The point of attending these fundraisers will be to rub shoulders with the high and mighty, so that a case can be made for relief from the pressure being exerted on him and his associates. Hubby is expected to attend one or both fundraisers for Hillary – the first will be a reception with Bill Clinton at the weekend where a $10,000 contribution will get the donor a photo with the former president. Early next week, there will be an evening with Hillary, where Hubby is expected to make an appearance. We hear more contributions will be the order of the day.
A case for asylum
If anyone needs political asylum it’s the intrepid lawyer who prosecuted the Punjab Governor’s assassin. The latter was hanged in February this year, for murdering the Governor in 2011. The lawyer who fought the case has been in hiding with his family ever since. He’s now briefless, for obvious reasons, and fears for himself and his family. He is looking for a gesture of goodwill from a generous country.
Counter-productive
After an exhaustive discussion in The Great Khan’s den, it was decided that a march on The Man of Steel’s home outside Lahore would be counter-productive. Our mole says there was quite a debate on the issue and most of The Khan’s lieutenants felt that a “gherao” of The Man’s Raiwind estate wouldn’t go down well in this traditional society where homes and families are considered sacrosanct. Thus was the idea dropped.
