Selfies for charity

Jemima Khan (again to be Goldsmith after she announced that she will be dropping the “Khan”) is in the news again. It’s a new celeb charity craze, all for a good cause, championed and initiated by Jemima. The brains behind #wakeupcall, which raises money for Unicef’s Syria Emergency Appeal, is calling on celebs to snap a shot of themselves after their alarm clocks go off. Amongst those who’ve taken these early morning selfies are the British-African supermodel Naomi Campbell and man of letters/actor Stephen Fry who’ve shared their photos on Twitter. In her own selfie, Jemima appears to be leaping from bed, screaming but looking good first thing in the morning.

Hostile takeover

Nothing riles up the Quaid-e-Qiwam quite like when insiders try and take over his party. And fortune doesn’t look kindly on them either, witness the fate of Azeem Tariq and Dr Imran Farooq. But it appears that two former party stalwarts haven’t learnt from history and are trying to take over the Quaid’s party from their perches in exile in the Gulf. The Quaid, however, is busy battling the conspiracy and he’s had a reprieve in the money laundering case going on in the UK. Apparently, a Karachi businessman won £ 35000 at the Playboy Club in London last year and “gave the money to the Quaid as a donation”. This claim was verified by the London police via cctv footage and the Club’s records. Thus did the money laundering case suffer a setback, but the Brits are beavering away and combined with attempts at hostile takeovers, this is giving the Quaid sleepless nights.
