‘If Parvez Khattak Leaves PTI, Party Over In KP’

Analysts says that if there were Imran's supporters within establishment, they are no more, and the judiciary has no option left to go out of the way and help him out.

PTI chairman Imran Khan’s support in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain intact until he has Parvez Khattak support, but the latter is in contact with different people including Jahangir Tareen, Adil Shahzeb says.

The journalist told Khabar Say Aagay host Raza Rumi that if Tareen forms a political party, Khattak will be joining the ranks, and if he quits PTI, he will take some two dozen workers of the party with him.

Shahzeb further said that even if there were Imran’s supporters within establishment, they are no more. Also, the judiciary has no option left to go out of the way and help him out.

Commenting on the PTI defections and desertions, senior journalist Mubashir Bukhari said that political workers, who have a political upbringing, are the ones who sustain pressure.

Imran, he added, has been talking about conspiracies, and may do so in future too, but the narrative will not be yielding results any further.

Reporter Hassan Ayub Khan highlighted that the Chief Justice remained silent on the audio leaks, but as soon as the judicial commission was formed, he stopped it from working.

He quoted reports that Parvez Elahi had made all efforts for a pardon, but he won’t be spared even if he holds a presser now.

Analyst Murtaza Solangi said that whenever the state is faced with a crisis, it surpasses what’s in the law and the Constitution.

Defections in the former ruling party have continued in the wake of the May 9 unrest, that involved the targeting of security and government installations.

An exodus from the PTI followed, as leaders from the top tier announced to part ways with Imran Khan and his organisation. According to them, they can’t remain a part of a party that targets the army and compromises national interests.

Flagship Naya Daur TV show Khabar Say Aagay streams every Monday to Saturday at 9pm.

Military and veterans are one social class. An attack on it has led to the whole class closing ranks. There are few people still padding conspiracy narratives but majority have realised that their own vested interests are at threat if military gets dragged on the streets.

The myth of Imran’s popularity took a huge blow since his incarceration did not result in any spontaneity popular reaction and only a well directed groups of party workers who had been indoctrinated by the Supreme Leader attacked its target.

So the demigod Imran was raised through dharna culture and died due to lack of popular support. Once it has become clear what his real following is the agriculturalists can simply pluck him off and take their gifted party back and hand it over to whoever wishes to own it in KPK & Punjab. Hope they won’t draw back their murshid as well.
