Imran Khan Asked Then-DG ISI Asim Munir To Manage Senate, But He Refused: Vawda
Former leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Faisal Vawda has said that then-prime minister Imran Khan had ordered then-DG ISI General Asim Munir to manage the Senate, but he refused to do so, saying that the army could not interfere in a democratic matter.

Vawda stated that Imran Khan dismissed the then-DGISI General Asim Munir for working honestly.

While speaking on Geo News, Vawda said that PTI had staged a sit-in to prevent General Asim Munir from being appointed as the army chief.

The former PTI leader said that he told General Asim Munir that what you were going to do would be harmful to him. To which General Asim Munir questioned, "You are asking me to be unfaithful to my country?"

He further said that when General Asim Munir presented evidence of corruption to Imran Khan, the next day Khan dismissed him from the post of ISI chief.

Vawda said that Imran Khan received three to four crore rupees in the watch scandal; the remaining twenty-five crore rupees were stolen by others. Shahzad Akbar was not alone in doing corruption, and he had the support of a ‘special person’, he added. He said that audio and video evidence against then-chief minister Usman Buzdar was also shown to Khan.
