Shaheed Allah Bux Soomro was born in 1900 into the influential Soomro Rajput community. He went on to become the first Chief Minister of Sindh. His early education took place in Thull Taluka of Jacobabad, where he completed his Matriculation in 1918.
Haji Mohammad Umar Soomro, his father, was a renowned contractor and businessman during his time. Growing up, Allah Bux Soomro displayed wisdom beyond his years and developed a keen interest in politics. In 1923, he became a member of the Jacobabad Municipal Committee. After five years, he was elected as a member of the local board in the Sukkur district and eventually became its president in 1930.
With a combination of his family's political connections and his education in the British system, Allah Bux Soomro quickly rose within the political circles of the province. Known for his honesty, humility, and strong dedication to the welfare of his province, he left a lasting impact on Sindh's political landscape. Even today, his descendants continue to hold significant political influence in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh.
Tragically, Shaheed Allah Bux Soomro was assassinated in broad daylight by religious extremists in his hometown of Shikarpur on 14 May 1943. Although his attackers were apprehended, the motive behind his murder remained unknown. However, his untimely death significantly impacted the political landscape of Sindh, leading to a clear division between those supporting and opposing the Muslim League.
