Yaqoob Atif was a talented veteran Pakistani singer who gained fame as a singer due to his energetic stage performances. His most famous song was Pani Da Bulbula, which was a Pakistani style original rap song released in 1979.
He is regarded as the first-ever Punjabi rap singer. In PTV plays he had roles in Waris, Andhera Ujala and Aj di Kahani.
Atif passed away on Friday 12 May after suffering from paralysis for two years.
