The incumbent Chief Justice and his compatriots haven't treated the incoming Chief Justice honourably, according to Matiullah Jan.
The journalist told Khabar Say Aagay host Raza Rumi that the judges are afraid and uneasy, and it's why they are making such decisions.
"It has now begun to seem that the insaf court has to contest the elections, not Tehreek-e-Insaf," he said.
He pointed out that Punjab poll schedule was announced by SC, not the ECP, the competent authority to do so.
Jan also said that the matter of release of funds for the elections will be a litmus test for the government.
"The Supreme Court wants to have its decision implemented before the new judicial reforms come into effect."
Like the PTI chief Imran Khan, the honourable judges too think that polls in Punjab will send a message for the rest of the country.
Sajjad Anwar predicted that the PTI will gain electoral support from Punjab's urban areas but not from rural areas.
"The government will be able to delay the election until the new judicial reforms come into effect," he said.
According to Anwar, besides the government, other stakeholders are also agreed upon polls in Oct.
Nadia Naqi observed that the establishment seems neutral from the way the Chief Justice is making decisions.
But this matter isn't as such as simple as being portrayed by the superior judiciary, she maintained.
On the other hand, Imran also hasn't begun awarding the tickets, which means something else may happen, Naqi said.
Murtaza Solangi pointed out that the ECP didn't even object over the suspension of its powers. "The electoral authority issued the revised schedule of the top court before the detailed verdict."
Earlier, the Supreme Court declared the electoral authority’s decision as null and void. The three-member bench, led by CJP and including Justices Ijaz Ul Ahsan and Munib Akhtar said that Punjab elections must take place on May 14.
