Want Reconciliation With Institutions: Sheikh Rasheed
Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, a close ally of PTI chief Imran Khan, has said that they want reconciliation with institutions, saying they have no conflict with them.

While talking to journalists outside the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), he said that elections should be held at the earliest and the nation will reject the ‘imposed fraudsters’ through their vote. While responding to a question, he said he had never contacted Army Chief General Asim Munir but that he would call him soon. However, he didn’t share for what purpose he would contact the army chief.

He said that he has good relations with the army, but "I was kept in a hideout for three hours during detention, and I regret this."

The AML chief said that he never met former army chief General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa, adding that he was just his junior fellow in the college during his student life.

While lashing out at Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) senior leader and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, he termed him a ‘thug’ and ‘contract killer'. He said that Sanaullah killed several people at Minhajul Quran and again, he is creating chaos in the country.

He challenged the PMLN's leadership to bring back former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

While talking about the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally held in Lahore on Saturday, Rasheed said that the government placed containers on the road to block the passage, but still people reached the venue after traveling 20 kilometers on foot.

The former minister said that no one can eliminate PTI, and it's not even possible to eliminate any big political party.

Responding to a question, he said that he has no connection with Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial, but the CJP’s father did so many favors for him by allotting land for the purpose of establishing educational institutions.

He also reiterated that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairperson and former president Asif Ali Zardari wants to assassinate PTI chief Imran Khan through contract killers.
