ISI Technical Wing Sponsored More Than 60 PTI Rallies, Claims Journalist
The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) technical wing sponsored more than 60 public rallies of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held after May 26, 2022, across the country, claimed journalist Imran Shafqat.

In a recent vlog on his YouTube channel, he said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan initiated rallies across Pakistan from May 26, 2022, onward, and about 60 to 70 rallies were held in a series that was sponsored by the technical wing through the money they acquired by blackmailing rich businessmen.

The journalist said that the technical wing is the most horrible wing if misused. He said the main objectives of this wing are to deal with geofencing, IT technology, call recordings, and surveillance. Lt Gen (r) Faiz appointed retired army officers in this wing, he claimed.

He said the setup formulated by Lt Gen (r) Faiz Hameed inside the institution is being broken. Earlier, 30-32 officers of colonel and major rank were taken into custody for interrogation. Now officers of the technical wing are being arrested, he added.

The journalist said that recently two high-ranking officers have been arrested in Bahawalpur, and many have been fired from their jobs and are being interrogated.

He said that Lt Gen (r) Faiz had established his own counter institution inside ISI by appointing his favorite officers. He said that Faiz adopted the strategy of directly approaching junior officers to assign them tasks favoring PTI, adding that this was not practiced in the past. He added that this was the mechanism through which Imran Khan was getting favors and support.

He said that PTI's various senior leaders, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Ali Zaidi, Pervez Khattak, Fawad Chaudhry, and Pervez Elahi, are in contact with the establishment and playing on both sides of the wicket.

He further said that PTI leader Qasim Suri and Yasmeen Rashid left the Lahore rally early, adding that Yasmin Rashid is disheartened since Imran Khan ridiculed her harshly after her call was leaked, in which she was asking President Alvi to convince Imran Khan to surrender before the police to avert any major untoward incident.
