Before 2020, remote working was becoming popular, but COVID-19 significantly contributed to the popularity of remote working. In recent years, more and more companies are looking to hire remote workers to reduce costs, access a wider pool of talent, and increase productivity. Companies and employees are also questioning whether physical borders and offices are necessary for working.

Pakistan has emerged as a top destination for hiring remote workers because of the high number of young and skilled workforce. Pakistan has a large and diverse workforce, with a population of over 220 million. A huge majority of the country’s population is under the age of 30, which means that there is an increasing number of young people entering the workforce. In recent years, the educational system in Pakistan has improved, trying to reach international standards.

Even though Pakistan’s force is concentrated in a few key industries, such as textiles, agriculture, and services, there is growing traction toward technology due to which the country’s IT industry is rapidly growing, making Pakistan one of the top countries for hiring remote workers. We will look at a few benefits of hiring remote workers from Pakistan:

A Huge Number Of Young Population

As mentioned earlier, Pakistan has a population of over 220 million, which makes it the 5th most populous country in the world. More than 60% of the country’s population is below the age of 25. Every year, a huge number of young and educated graduates enter the job market looking to start their careers. Foreign companies that need young and enthusiastic employees can definitely consider Pakistan’s young and enthusiastic workforce.

Minimal Time Zone Difference

Another major benefit of hiring remote workers from Pakistan is that Pakistan’s time zone is almost aligned with most Western countries, especially European nations. This means that remote workers can work along with their clients and colleagues with minimal time zone differences. This is beneficial, as it helps to reduce communication delays and improve collaboration.

English Proficiency

Even though English is not the national language of Pakistan and a majority of Pakistanis speak Urdu and other local languages, there is a huge population of people in Pakistan who are proficient in English, thanks to the increasing number of schools and universities that offer English education along with English to Urdu translation of modern-curriculum.

About 60% of the country’s population are English speakers and Pakistan ranks #3 in the list of countries by English-speaking population, only second to the USA and India. This is a huge advantage for foreign companies that are looking to hire remote workers. The young, skilled workforce of the country is proficient in English, which makes communication with Western clients and colleagues easier for them.

Additionally, there are several translation services available that can assist with language barriers for companies that require Urdu to English or English to Urdu translations. Overall, Pakistan’s language proficiency is another advantage for foreign companies looking to hire remote workers from the country.

Cost Savings

One of the biggest advantages of hiring remote workers from Pakistan is cost savings. Compared to the rest of the world and western countries, salaries and wages in Pakistan are generally lower. In addition, the cost of living in Pakistan is relatively low, which also reduces overhead costs. This makes Pakistan an ideal spot for foreign companies that are looking to save labor costs.

The skillset, skill level, and expertise of Pakistani workers are on par with international standards, while the costs are much lower, providing a huge advantage to companies that hire remote workers from Pakistan.

Cultural Factor

Pakistan has a strong work ethic and a culture of professionalism, which is highly valued by many foreign companies. For many foreign companies, professionalism and a strong work ethic are compulsory. Fortunately, Pakistani remote workers are known for their sheer dedication and hard work, qualities that can help companies improve their productivity and quality of work.

Moreover, the Pakistani culture of hospitality and friendliness is a further plus point as it aids in creating a positive working relationship with clients and colleagues.

Technological Infrastructure

In recent years, Pakistan has made significant investments in the field of the Internet and technology to improve its technological infrastructure. The main focus is to expand access to high-speed Internet across the country and promote the growth of its tech industry. As a result of these investments, remote workers in Pakistan have access to reliable and affordable internet, which is an essential requirement for remote workers.

To conclude, Pakistan has emerged as one of the top destinations for hiring remote workers for various reasons, including its young and skilled workforce, favorable time zone alignment with Western countries, affordable cost of living, a huge number of people proficient in English, and growing tech industry. As more companies turn towards remote working solutions, they will definitely consider tapping into the potential of Pakistani remote workers.
