Rana Mashhood Flays Judiciary Over Treating Imran Khan With 'Leniency'
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) leader Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers are attacking courts in the form of a mob and still they are being treated respectfully, adding that if judges understand only this language then PMLN can show a more intense mob at their hearings, but the party will not resort to this as they have to save the country.

While addressing a press conference in Lahore, Rana Mashhood said that his leader, Nawaz Sharif, had made the country an atomic power and improved the economy. "Our leader, Nawaz Sharif, always said that we don’t want politics of power but politics of values," he added.

He further said that people associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) are being arrested from the residence of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, and he is playing a Pashtoon card to justify this. He added that the PMLN will stand firm against anyone, regardless of ethnicity, who will dare to stand against the constitution of the country.

The PMLN leader also said that institutions acted as facilitators for the PTI and Imran Khan, and a segment of them is still backing him, urging them to stop this nonsense and let the country move forward.

On March 19, intense altercations between police and PTI workers broke out when Imran’s convoy approached the judicial complex.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s vehicle was stopped only 100 meters from the gate of the judicial complex, as the police blamed party activists for blocking the way, while the PTI alleged that law enforcement was restricting Khan’s mobility.

Soon after the incident, Islamabad police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders for hooliganism and violence outside the Islamabad judicial complex.

The former prime minister and 17 other PTI leaders were nominated in the first information report, which SHO Rashid of the Ramna police station filed.

The FIR also lists Ali Nawaz Awan, Aamir Mehmood Kayani, Asad Qaiser, Farrukh Habib, Asad Umar, Umar Ayub, Jamshed Mughal, Ali Amin Gandapur, Ehsan Khan Niazi, Mohammad Asim, and Shibli Faraz.
