A woman reportedly going for a job interview in New Delhi, India was assaulted by her father-in-law with a brick, the video of which is also viral on social media.

According to Indian media, a woman named Kajol, a resident of the Faridabad area of the capital New Delhi, wanted to help her husband with the financial affairs of the house, and she was going to interview for a job when her father-in-law found out.

According to media reports, Kajol’s father-in-law first tried to stop her and told her to go back home, but when Kajol refused, he started hitting her with a brick in his hand.

According to Indian media, Kajol was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, where she received 17 stitches in her head. A case has been registered against the father-in-law upon the complaint of the girl’s family.

On March 11, a Japanese woman was also groped and harassed by at least a dozen men during Holi celebrations in India, it emerged on Saturday.

In a video doing rounds of social media, the woman could be seen being inappropriately touched by several men.

One of the men proceeded to smash an egg on her head, while others continued to smear her face with colors, Independent reported.

The later part of the video shows the frightened woman trying to move away from the crowd, eventually managing to enter a narrow alley and disappearing from the scene.

Some reports suggest that police have taken three people into custody, including a juvenile, for the vile act.

Meanwhile, police said that they were in process of contacting the Japanese embassy in order to acquire the woman’s details.

An email has been sent to the Japanese embassy to find out her details, police said, and added that the authorities are in attempts to establish the identity of the remaining men seen in the video using local intelligence.

The incident has shocked the rights activists, who called it a disgrace for the country. Swati Maliwal, the chair for Delhi Commission for Women, termed the act “completely shameful” and said she is issuing a notice to the Delhi police to apprehend the perpetrators.

In a separate incident, a 65-year-old woman in the Jharkhand state was reportedly beaten to death by a group of six people after she stopped them from smearing colours on her son.

In Jun of last year, a female employee of a pizza chain was mercilessly beaten by a gang of women in the Indore area for “staring” at them.

The victim could be seen crying for help, with the four women slapping, and beating her with a bamboo stick.

According to Hindustan Times, the attacker women were part of a gang and had themselves posted the video online.
