The Lahore High Court (LHC) has barred the law enforcers from continuing the Zaman Park operation till the verdict of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding the non-bailable arrest warrant of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

LHC Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh heard the petition filed by PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry to halt the police operation in Zaman Park. During the hearing, the court inquired from Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer where the petitioner was.

“It’s 10 o’clock. This is the level of your seriousness that the petitioner is not even in the court,” the judge remarked.

Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer informed the court that the decision regarding the cancellation of Imran Khan’s arrest warrant was reserved in the Islamabad district and sessions court.

Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh remarked that the solution to everything was in the law and the constitution. The party has jammed the entire system, the judge remarked.

“On the one hand, you approach the LHC, and on the other, you approach Islamabad High Court (IHC),” he stated.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer said this has become a political matter.

Upon this, Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh remarked that both parties had made it political, adding that only the law needed to be followed. The whole nation is suffering, he added.

During the hearing, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry told the court that Imran Khan was facing security threats.

“PTI Chairman Imran Khan appeared in four courts in Islamabad but did not appear in the fifth one because there was 100 percent confirmed information about a murderous attack on Imran Khan in F8 court.”

To this, Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh remarked, “In our system, there is a law for acquiring security.”

Advocate General Punjab Shan Gull argued before the court that the matter is still pending at the Islamabad High Court, so the present petition is not maintainable at the Lahore High Court. The court adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
