Imran Using PTI Workers As Shield To Avoid Being Jailed: Maryam
PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz accused PTI chief Imran Khan of using the party workers as shield to avoid being put behind bars, on Monday.

While addressing a gathering in Lahore, Maryam reiterated that the former premier was avoiding court hearing by using his injured leg as an excuse.

"Whenever he is asked to appear in a court, he shows his plastered leg, but is always ready to attend a rally," she said.

The PML-N leader went on to say that the PTI chief subjected the now ruling party to retaliation. "He is using the sons and daughters of [his supporters] as shield."

Calling Imran a coward, Maryam said her father and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif never hid for fear of being held.

She said that there was no external threat to the country but termed political polarisation dangerous.

"We can't compromise on Pakistan's interests; we'll not let any conspiracy against the country succeed," she remarked.

Earlier today, Imran Khan announced to organise a “historic” rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday, as part of the party’s electioneering ahead of the crucial Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections.

“I’ll hold a public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday at 2pm,” Imran said, addressing his supporters from inside his vehicle after leading a rally in the metropolis for the first time since his recovery from an attack on him in Wazirabad in November last year.

He said that though his life was in danger, “thieves” imposed upon the country must be held accountable if “true freedom” freedom is to be achieved.

According to Imran, everything in the Toshakhana case was no clear. “I faced severe criticism [in the case] and my character was maligned, but if the funding of PML-N is disclosed, everything will be clearer.”

Ali Bilal, also known as Zillay Shah, died as the caretaker government attempted to block a rally called to launch PTI’s campaign for the provincial elections scheduled for April 30.
