Saqib Nisar, Faiz Hameed Were In Same WhatsApp Group Where They Decided Cases, Claims Journalist
Former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and Gen Faiz Hameed were in a Whatsapp group where they discussed political cases and decided on how to handle them, said journalist Asad Ali Toor on his YouTube channel on Tuesday.

The journalist said that in 2017, there was a WhatsApp group in which Saqib Nisar, Lt Gen (r) Faiz Hameed, and three other Supreme Court judges, and in that group, the fate of politicians was decided.

He further mentioned that former army chief General (retired) Bajwa had admitted while talking to journalist Javed Chaudhry that he had asked the former chief justice Saqib Nisar to declare Imran Khan ‘Sadiq and ‘Amin’ and regularise Khan’s Bani Gala land.

Journalist Asad said that once Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers raised slogans against then-chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar while staging a protest demonstration. Upon this, Saqib Nisar contacted the then-chief justice of the Lahore High Court, Yawar Ali, and asked him to take action against the PML-N workers and throw them in jail on charges of terrorism. However, Yawar Ali denied doing so, which resulted in an exchange of filthy abuse between Saqib Nisar and Yawar Ali. Later, Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh intervened and resolved the issue among two senior judges.

He claimed that Saqib Nisar was extremely anti-PML-N, but it was the PML-N that appointed him as the law secretary and then the chief justice of the Lahore High Court in favor.

He said that Saqib Nisar removed Nawaz Sharif from the presidency of the PML-N prior to the senate elections held before 2018 and declared the PML-N senators independent, which paved the way for Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed to practice horse trading to strengthen Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). This was how political engineering was executed, he added.

The journalist said that out of three accountability cases filed against the Sharif family, the verdict in one reference was intentionally announced earlier to ensure Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz must be in jail before the general elections. When Nawaz and Maryam approached the Islamabad High Court for bail, then Lt Gen (retired) Faiz visited the residence of Justice (retired) Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui to forbid him from granting them bail. But Justice (retired) Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui refused to obey the orders upon which then-chief justice Saqib Nisar removed Justice (retired) Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui through a reference filed in the Supreme Judicial Council on the orders of Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed.

Asad said that once a lawyer, Riaz Hanif Rahi, filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC) against the appointment of Justice Qazi Faez Isa as a SC judge. Then-chief justice Saqib Nisar accepted the plea for a hearing, but a week later he was scheduled to address the Quetta Bar Council. The lawyers from Quetta threatened Saqib Nisar that he would face dire consequences if he moved against Justice Isa, journalist Asad claimed. When the petitioner Riaz learned about this, he left Islamabad and went to his hometown, Rahim Yar Khan. Saqib Nisar ordered a raid on his home and brought him to Islamabad in a police van. He made him appear before the court and dismissed the case.

The journalist further stated that once a politician named Faisal Raza Abidi criticized Saqib Nisar on a news channel, after which the ex-chief justice took suo moto action for contempt of court against him. When Faisal was leaving the court premises after appearing in the suo moto case, police took him into custody in another fake case. Moreover, Saqib Nisar contacted all judges of the high courts and lower courts and instructed them not to grant bail to him.

Justice Muneeb Akhtar was the junior judge of the Sindh High Court, but since he was the son-in-law of Khalid Anwar, the mentor of Saqib Nisar, the former chief justice elevated him and appointed him a judge of the apex court.

Asad Ali Toor further said that the current Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Umar Atta Bandial, is a close ally of Saqib Nisar, and he was also the member of the bench who declared Imran Khan ‘Sadiq’ and ‘Amin’.

He also said that in 2022, Imran Khan was ousted through a no-confidence motion, and soon after his ouster, the former premier initiated a campaign against the judiciary, which is how the court opened its door at midnight to give judgment. CJP Bandial and other senior judges were facing embarrassment on this, and therefore ‘someone’ asked Saqib Nisar to intervene, after which Saqib Nisar visited Imran Khan at his Lahore residence, Zaman Park, and conveyed the message of ‘important personalities’ that he should stop questioning who ordered the opening of the court at midnight, and in return, he would be accommodated in the future. This is a reason why Imran Khan is getting relief from the courts despite the numerous cases filed against him, he added.

He said that now Saqib Nisar has claimed that his WhatsApp has been hacked, adding that Saqib’s conversations with ‘important personalities’ have been acquired by the hackers, and now the former chief justice is afraid that his data might leak in the form of audio.

The journalist said that in the coming days, an audio leak might emerge, and this will cause a crisis. He further claimed that this is the reason why Saqib Nisar denied help to Imran Khan, as he is already in fear because of his past deeds and activities.

Asad said that Saqib Nisar was responsible for ruining PKLI Hospital because his brother, who was a doctor, was not getting promoted.
