Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that those who sponsored Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in 2011 are the biggest enemies of the country.
While talking on the Dawn News program, Khawaja Asif mentioned the names of former army officers, including General (retired) Zaheerul Islam and General (retired) Shuja Pasha, and said that they were among those who brought Imran Khan into national politics, adding that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was blackmailed to the extreme limit.
He claimed that the establishment offered Nawaz Sharif the chance to avoid disqualification if he met certain conditions. However, Khawaja Asif didn’t share on the TV program what those certain demands were.
When asked what the demands of the establishment were, Khawaja Asif said that he would reveal everything at the right time while standing on the floor of the National Assembly and holding the Holy Quran in hand. “I will disclose how Nawaz was blackmailed by the establishment and what they demanded,” he announced.
Khawaja Asif further said that Nawaz Sharif preferred to face accountability and sacrifice his rulership rather than set a trend of locking horns.
“The entire structure of the PTI is based on fraud, and there is no doubt people are with them, which is alarming, and it demonstrates that this infection and filth have penetrated deep into the roots of the society,” he added.
