Our courts should refrain from building an impression that they decide cases based on public or political pressures, says Salahuddin Ahmed.

Our institutions, he maintained, convey to the political leaders that they would resolve their issues. "Our political leaders, if left on their own, will begin to resolve their issues without any outside help."
Hassan Ayub lamented that the differences the judges had behind closed doors have made their way to the courtroom, and termed it unfortunate.
Speaking about the 'untouchables', he asked as to why the Public Accounts Committee cannot audit the top court of the country.
He highlighted that the SC registrar couldn't respond satisfactorily to Justice Qazi Faez Isa on the bench and case reshuffle.

Anchorperson Nadia Naqi said that the PTI and its chairman used to criticise the PML-N leaders of trying to pressure the court when the leaders appeared in the courts with convoys.
"The PTI supporters should be held accountable now for their forced entry into the judicial complex, and other acts of chaos," she said.
The Supreme Court will announce its verdict in the suo motu hearing on Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections on Wednesday, as the political parties concerned complete their arguments in the case.
A day earlier, the SC directed PTI and the coalition government to decide a date for the polling. “Even if we take a decision [on the matter], the litigation will continue and this will be very costly for the public and political parties,” Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial observed.
The top judge made the remarks as the five-member bench resumed the proceedings into the case.
