The Federal Investigation Agency has accused PTI chairman Imran Khan of "misusing" his interim bail in order to skip court hearings, as it approached a banking court in the prohibited funding case.
The agency had booked the former premier and other leaders of the PTI suspecting wrongful funding by the party. The case was filed on behalf of the state via FIA Corporate Banking Circle.
Later, a special court in Islamabad granted an interim bail to Imran, which later saw extensions on medical grounds. The PTI chief had received bullet wounds in an attack on him in Wazirabad last year.
In its application filed with Islamabad’s banking court today (Feb 25), the federal agency requested the court to form a medical board to examine the former prime minister's health.
"After getting an interim bail, the accused is misusing the concession and not appearing before this honourable court and in fact," the application read.

It added, "He is not cooperating with the process of law and till date, neither he joined the investigation nor he is appearing before the court on one pretext or the other.”
It further said that a “stereotype medical certificate” was presented from a cancer hospital, "although the petitioner alleges he has issues related to orthopedic."
The FIA also pointed to the fact that the report presented by the former premier was issued by a hospital owned by him, “thus the said reports are otherwise not credible”.
"The principles of fair play and justice requires that the accused is to be examined by a board of expert doctors from PIMS or Polyclinic," it said and implored the court to form a medical board in this regard.
Meanwhile, the court summoned the PTI chief for Feb 28 after his counsel said that he was due to appear in the Islamabad High Court on the same day.
