Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has said that the civil and military leadership of the country has finally put a stop to the previous government's policy of appeasing terrorists.
"Unfortunately, following the fall of Kabul and the decision of the government that preceded ours, to start negotiating with the same terrorist groups without pre-conditions of disarming, de-radicalisation, and respect for the Constitution, what we call a policy of appeasement, has blown up in our face," he said during an interview with the CNBC Middle East.
So, on one side, he added, we have the consequences of the withdrawal from Afghanistan that has given various groups over there a lot more space to function, he added.
The PPP chief further told the interviewer that Pakistan has a very porous border that it does not have the capacity to man extensively, adding, "We have these sort of groups within our country."
Bilawal said that the good news is that the new unity government is clear and the new military leadership is clear. "We have had national security meetings in our country and we have put a full stop to the policy of appeasement."

Pakistan has had a series of deadly terrorists attacks targeting the mosques and security forces. The fresh wave of terrorism comes as the county continues to grapple with the worst financial crisis.
