Sixth Grade Female Student Commits Suicide In Hyderabad: Police
A 12-year old girl who was initially presumed to have accidentally fallen from the roof of the school in Hyderabad committed suicide, police said on Tuesday.

Initial probe by the officials of Nasim Nagar Police Station says that the girl, student of grade six, jumped from the third floor of a private school located in the Qasimabad area of Hyderabad today.

The deceased was identified as Memoona, daughter of Zulfiqar Narejo, who is an employee of the revenue department. While the girl was in 6th grade.

Police said that the CCTV footage showed the girl reaching the third floor and, after gauging the height of the railing, jumping from there.

The LEA added that the footage showed a man rushing towards the girl to stop her prior to her act of suicide, but could not succeed.

The incident caused a panic in the school as other students present there who got frightened and ran to their classes or outside.

According to SSP Hyderabad Amjad Ali Sheikh, the footage has somewhat resolved the mystery behind the death of the girl, but the cause behind the extreme step is yet to be known.

The police have collected the statements of the class teacher, headteacher, and the officials concerned of the administration.

Dr Sanobar of the Liaquat University Hospital who performed the autopsy, said it would be too early to make a comment. We have preserved samples for the DNA as well.”

Meanwhile, the bereaved father said her daughter was completely fine and was not undergoing any sort of mental distress. He urged the police to enhance the scope of their investigation to unearth the reality behind the girl's sad demise.

Further, Sindh Education Minister took notice of the incident and on his directions, a committee led by additional director private associations, has been formed. The members of the committee have been directed to visit the school and submit a report.
