Nawaz Sharif Was Removed In An Extra-Constitutional Manner: Shah Mahmood
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was ousted in an extra-constitutional manner.

The PTI leader said on a talk show hosted by Meher Bokhari that he hoped Nawaz would learn from this experience and take a different approach.

When asked if Nawaz Sharif was wronged, Shah Mahmood's answer was, of course, "yes."

The PTI leader said that any person of a democratic mindset will not consider the extra-constitutional removal of public representatives appropriate.

Meher Bokhari asked if Shah Mahmood thought whatever Nawaz Sharif faced was unjust. Qureshi said no matter who it is, if you remove someone in an extra-constitutional manner, it will not serve democracy.

It is pertinent to mention here that PTI had submitted the plea against then-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, upon which he was declared disqualified.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan, who championed the case against Nawaz Sharif, described the court’s ruling as a triumph for democracy.

Activists of the PTI celebrated the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif across the country following the Supreme Court's Panama verdict.

On July 28, 2017, then-prime minister Nawaz Sharif stepped down after the apex court disqualified him from office as leader of the country’s government.
