KP Governor's Letter To ECP Attempt To Delay Elections: Imran
PTI chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday expressed concern over the letter sent by KP governor to the ECP regarding the poll schedule, alleging 'those in power' wanted to use the law and order situation to delay elections.

Governor Haji Ghulam Ali earlier wrote to the ECP chief, asking the top electoral authority to consult all political parties before deciding a schedule for elections in the province.

In his letter, Ali had raised concerns on the 'alarming law and order situation” following Peshawar attack.

Addressing his supporters via video link, Imran Khan opined that the governor should not have written the letter.
During his address, Imran had reiterated that he would take to the streets when he is better and will not be ‘confined’ [by such threats].

"They are using the Peshawar incident to delay the polls," he said. "If they succeed in delaying the elections, it will be disastrous for the country."

He went on to say, "They are afraid that Imran Khan will win if the elections are held on time."

Imran said the move would be a violation of the Constitution, and invited the application of Article 6.

"Militancy was prevalent in 2013 and 2018, too, but that did not result into a poll delay," PTI chief said.

In a previous address, former premier had accused PPP co-chair Asif Ali Zardari and ‘powerful agencies’ of the country of being behind a plot to kill him.

“Asif Ali Zardari is behind a Plan ‘C’ to kill me and he has given money to a terrorist organisation for the purpose.”

“The facilitators in this are the people belonging to powerful agencies,” he had said, “It's a decision that has been made from three sides.”
"They are using the Peshawar incident to delay the polls," he said adding, "If they succeeded in delaying the elections, it will be disastrous for the country."

“I have written out their names so that people may know. They want to get me out of the way using any means that they can,” the PTI chief had claimed.

He had also said that the conspirers want to somehow defeat the former ruling party (in the elections).

During his address, Imran had reiterated that he would take to the streets when he is better and will not be ‘confined’ [by such threats].

The remarks had invited strong response from PPP, which sent a legal notice to the former premier and sought an apology.
