Fawad Chaudhry may not get a bail easily because he has committed the ‘rebellion’ quite openly, and this crime invites a life sentence. In cases of such sort, decisions are made keeping in view the situation of the country, according to Awais Babar.

The legal expert told Khabar Say Aagay host Raza Rumi that Fawad incited the masses to treason, and it’s a case of its sort. “When you incite people against someone’s family, it amounts to a crime.

He added that the perception that the establishment built around powerful people isn’t going to go away with this arrest.

Observing the situation in the backdrop of the incidents today, Journalist Tajamul Bukhari said the PML-N may not find it easy to arrest PTI chairman Imran Khan in the days to come.

Speaking in the context of Fawad’s arrest, Journalist Sajjad Anwar noted that former ruling party is trying to establish itself as the biggest anti-establishment entity.

According to analyst Fauzai Yazdani, with other factors, such as the PTI’s conduct on social media, aside, one should condemn the arrest as such incidents are giving rise to a divide in the society.

Murtaza Solangi pointed at the history of party’s chief Imran Khan and other leaders of hurling threats at officials.

A district and sessions court of the federal capital granted police a two-day physical remand of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry, his arrest for ‘threatening remarks‘ against Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governors and Election Commission.

Earlier today, the Lahore High Court dismissed a plea filed against Fawad’s ‘illegal detainment’. During the hearing, Inspector General of Punjab Police had apprised the court that the accused was currently under the custody of Islamabad police.

Dismissing the petition filed by Fawad’s counsel, LHC had observed that the detention was “not illegal”. The court subsequently asked the counsel to approach Islamabad High Court to pursue the matter.

LHC earlier ordered police to produce the accused in the court, while summoning the Islamabad and Punjab inspector generals (IGs) of police.

The party stalwart was taken into custody after his statement that the governors will be put to trial under Article 6 for their failure to announce a date for the elections as enshrined in the Constitution, and that those at the helm will be given an exemplary punishment and chased to their homes for their doing.

Flagship Naya Daur show Khabar Say Aagay streams Monday to Saturday at 9pm.

There’s not even a single word giving details of the headline, in the entire story.
