Pakistani women have done a spectacular job at putting their best foot forward and holding their own at the 2023 World Economic Forum at Davos.

Minister of Climate Sherry Rehman spoke about climate change, highlighting the huge price Pakistan has paid when it does not even contribute massively to planetary damage. She also spoke extensively on Pakistan has been facing post floods with regards to climate recovery. She spoke about the need to engage further than making a ‘pledge’ as constructive work on the ground was required beyond conversations.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar had bilateral meetings alongside Bilawal Bhutto and heads of state and also spoke at the panel related to South Asia highlighting how Pakistan has been willing to maintain peace but it is in fact India who has not been making any efforts for regional unity or peace.

Sabeen Fatima Haque was awarded Social Entrepreneur of the Year by Schwab Foundation for her company doctHers and she spoke in several sessions regarding gender parity, social innovation and global health.

Nighat Dad, the Executive Director of Digital Rights Foundation, made essential interventions around digital rights and inclusion and around regulatory mechanisms sharing her work with the Oversight Board.
