Mudryk has been dubbed "The Next Shevchenko" by pundits and fans all over the world as he comes to the struggling Chelsea side after achieving 18 G/A (goals and assists) this season for his now former club Shakhtar. The Ukrainian youngster completed his medical tests on Sunday after which he officially became a Chelsea player. The contract itself is of an unprecedented 7 years and hence won't expire until 2030.

When Chelsea signed Mudryk, after two days of his signing, the hype still hasn't died down. However, many are questioning whether this was the right move by Chelsea manager Graham Potter. While it is no secret Chelsea needs players with better finishing ability in their attack, their defence and midfield is in a questionable state. Pundits and fans alike have pointed out that it is highly unusual that a manager is developing the attack without fixing the defence and midfield first. Furthermore, most of Chelsea's most crucial players in the back and in midfield like N'Golo Kante and Reece James are unavailable due to injuries.

While Potter's side has deteriorated badly, it seems that Mudryk's signing and Chelsea's recent 1-0 win against Tottenham has re-ignited faith in the manager. It remains to be seen whether Potter may yet wave his wand and save the London Blues from their 10th position in the Premier League table with Mudryk coming into the team.
