Miftah Accuses Dar Of Orchestrating His Removal As Finance Minister
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Miftah Ismail has accused Finance Minister Ishaq Dar of orchestrating a campaign against him to prevent him from continuing to hold the finance portfolio.

According to Ismail, Dar opted for a campaign spanning more than six month against him because he could not tolerate anyone else from the party serving on the position.

Speaking during a podcast on a YouTube channel a day earlier (Jan 4), the former finance minister said Dar asked anchors of TV programmes to post tweets against him.

He went on to add that Dar is closer to the party supremo since his son is married to Nawaz Sharif's daughter.

The former finance also took his fellow PML-N member to task for failing to bring the dollar or petrol rates down as per his promises.

According to Miftah, PM Shehbaz did not want to replace him as he was satisfied with his performance.

He also criticised the way he was removed from his role, terming it disrespectful. The party supremo, he said, sought him in London and told him in front of a dozen people that he was being removed.

To a question, the ex-finance minister said PTI chairman Imran Khan is a good politician in terms of political strategy and narrative building.

He, however, added that the former premier lacks policy-making skills and he doesn't know what he would do after he manages to become the premier again.
