A New Designation For Maryam Nawaz Won’t Change The Fortunes Of PMLN
If the PML-N was actually serious about handing over more powers to Maryam Nawaz, they would have made her the ruling party's president so as to allow her to reorganise it, says Zaigham Khan.

Speaking at Khabar Say Aagay, he opined that the designation of senior vice president for Maryam won't make any difference.

The analyst said that struggle for power in the PML-N had regained momentum. Maryam was brought to the fore after Nawaz Sharif's departure to London, but she was on the backfoot, once again.

He highlighted that the PML-N leader couldn't be seen as active as before, and so the aforesaid change won't make any difference either.

On the Imran-Bajwa tussle, Zaigham said the latter had been tolerating a lot and it now the former's turn to follow suit.

According to analyst Murtaza Solangi, Maryam has a charismatic personality, but it is still to be seen if she could play a more active role with her new designation.

Host Raza Rumi lamented the role of Gen (retd) Bajwa and Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed vis-à-vis the law and the Constitution. They now want more chaos with audio leaks, and the controversy will engulf everyone.

Flagship Naya Daur TV show Khabar Say Aagay streams Monday to Saturday at 9pm.
