NA Speaker Refuses To Accept PTI Lawmakers' Resignations En Masse
The matter related to PTI resignations has hit a deadlock amid the lawmakers' insistence on acceptance of resignations en masse, on Thursday.

National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf insists on individual verification of resignations, reminding the visiting delegation, led by Asad Qaiser, that the party was asked earlier to complete the process, but to no avail.

Speaker Ashraf further said that the decision will be made as per the provisions of the Constitution and law.

The former ruling party had tendered their resignations from National Assembly in April, just a day after Imran Kahn's removal from the post of the country's premier following the Parliament's no-trust vote.

In July 28, the Speaker approved 11 resignations. The PTI had then challenged the move in the Islamabad High Court but the plea was dismissed on September 6.

It had then approached the top court, asking it to set aside the order, with the verdict still awaited.
