‘After LHC Verdict, Pervez Elahi Is A Powerless CM’
Pervez Elahi is a powerless chief minister after the verdict of Lahore High Court and will have to leave his office eventually, analysts said at Naya Daur TV programme Khabar Say Aagay.

Analyst Muzamal Suharwardy observed that CM Elahi won’t be able to exercise his powers in the province if the chief secretary and inspector general of police don’t comply with his orders.

He added, "The PML-Q leader is in a predicament; he must seek a vote of confidence of the House, but if he does that, he will have to dissolve the assembly."

Suharwardy further said, “CM Elahi can't opt for pro-establishment politics with PTI chairman Imran Khan on his side; he will have to pick one of them.

He added that the establishment didn't want elections at the time in view of the country's economy.

“Taking everything into consideration, a change in Punjab is inevitable now,” the journalist remarked.

Speaking on the occasion, President PILDAT Ahmad Bilal Mehboob said, “The decision today was a win-win for everyone, with Elahi being the biggest beneficiary.”

“But it is certain that this verdict has harmed the plans of the former premier,” he opined.

According to Nayyer Ali, Imran is using the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies as a bargaining chip.

“The PTI chief has a lot to lose if he loses the provincial assemblies,” Ali added.

He highlighted that miscreants are trying to take advantage of what’s happening at the border, and on the economic and political front. “The threat of TTP is facing Pakistan [again].”

Host Raza Rumi called upon political leaders and establishment to play their role in keeping the country safe.
