Islamabad Hit And Run Case: Pay 69 Lacs And Get Away With Murder
A district & sessions judge of Islamabad on Friday approved bail for a teenage girl involved in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of an elderly man, BBC Urdu reported.

The incident occurred in Sector D-14, Islamabad on Dec 12. As per the FIR, the complainant said she was overlooking her under-construction house when the recklessly-driven car killed her 40-year-old house help.

The case was registered under Sections 322 and 279 of the Pakistan Penal Code for 'unintended murder' and 'reckless driving'.

She further said that the young girl and a man accompanying her sped away after the incident. The application also stated that the teenager was learning to drive without license in the prohibited area.

The court, in its verdict, said that the accused and the complainant appeared in the court and said that the accused and the victim's family had reached an agreement, and the latter have been paid Rs6.9 million as blood money.

The court documents stated that the widow of the victim afterwards announced to withdraw her case.

'Colonel's daughter'

The report quoted the investigation officer as saying that the father of the accused is a serving colonel in Pakistan Army deployed in Quetta.

The girl, according to neighbours and eyewitnesses, is of age 14 or 15, he said and added that the police raided the house of the teenager to arrest her, but there was no one there.
