Man Strangled Wife With Her Hijab, Jailed After 20 Years On The Run
Zafar Iqbal, 62, strangled Naziat Khan, 38, with her own scarf in front of their three young daughters at her home in Norbury, south-west London, in August 2001 before escaping to Pakistan.

Iqbal was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 19 years for the so-called 'honour killing' which took place 21 years ago.

After murdering his wife who had asked him for a divorce post domestic violence, he abandoned their three daughters in the UK and escaped to Pakistan only to be extradited to face justice in the UK in 2021.

Earlier this month, Iqbal pleaded guilty to Ms Khan's murder.
