'Imran's Presser Desperate Attempt To Buy Time'
Imran Khan's decision to dissolve provincial assemblies on Dec 23 is a tactic to buy time, said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah in his reaction to PTI chairman's presser today.

The remarks came after Imran's announcement to dissolve Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies next Friday (Dec 23).

“It is a gimmick that he [PTI chief] has played,” the PML-N leader said. “What he refuses to respond to is his corruption while in power."

Pakistan People's Party leader Qamar Zaman Kaira seconded Sanaullah and asked as to why media was even "buying such a lie" in the first place.

In his statement following the presser, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said, "Someone wants Pakistan to default, but that's not going to happen."

He added that "only political stability and a charter of economy can strengthen national security."

PML-N's Marriyum Aurangzeb said, "One needs courage, not dates, to dissolve assemblies, and a thief lacks courage."

Former Punjab CM Hamza Shehbaz said the PTI chief was on a mission to bring political and economic instability in the country.

"General elections can take place at any given time, but they won't be held to satisfy one man's ego."

Another party leader Hina Pervez Butt said the ex-premier was "rattled" and that his "meltdown [was] understandable!!"

Earlier today, PM Shehbaz criticised "political miscreants trying to create chaos in the country."

According to him, these "miscreants" are interested in serving their own interests, not Pakistan's.

Last month, Imran said his party would part ways with a “corrupt political system” by dissolving the assemblies.
